Disclaimer: I am not a blogger by nature. This is basically just a place for me to vomit verbally, and maybe share some stories and stuff about my life.
About my family:
My husband and I met online...yes you read that correctly: ONLINE. On a website I do NOT recommend for Christians to use. I signed up on a bored whim with the thought "I could spend $30 on something just as pointless..." I was working 1 full time and 3 part time jobs at the time, and had no social life outside of occasionally going to the local bar with some coworkers to play Spades. Not the best place to find your future soul mate. Long story short(really short): I "met" hubs on April 3rd 2006 via E-mail, April 14th we had our first date at the Melting Pot. We knew from about our 4th or 5th date that we would eventually get married and started discussing our plans, thoughts, dreams child rearing ideals etc...August 30th he proposed after a lovely dinner, beside a lake that had swans and ducks and sail boats...At sunset. It was beautiful. I said yes and we discussed wedding dates...and settled on December 9th 2006...Yes our relationship from first date to wedding was about 7 1/2 months. What can I say....It was love. Is love!
After a year of being married and finding out a lot of things that bothered me that I didn't think would, working through issues, moving into a new house, going to Hungary for a Mission trip, then heading to Austria and Italy for a vacation, and taking a 1st anniversary cruise, we decided it was time to start our family. I had never engaged in premarital sex, wasn't on "the pill" or any other form of hormonal contraceptive...I had done everything I could to make sure my dream would come true without any problems...But life doesn't work like that. You can be a good person, do all the "right things",a nd you still get handed a pile of poop for your efforts. I found our I was Infertile...But no one knew why. I had what seemed like a million tests done...Finally after trying for the better part of 2 1/2years we switched gears. We started researching Adoption in May of 2009. International, Domestic, Private, Open, Birth, Toddler...We researched it all. We finally decided on International Adoption through All God's Children(great Christian Company). Filled out our application and sent it in along with our non-refundable application fee. A week later Hubs called me and said he had been talking over E-mail to a lady who ran another Christian Adoption agency. He felt like we needed to consider switching from AGC to this agency...I told him I would leave it up to him. We made the switch, to Celebrate Children International, and had our first referral in less than a month, for a healthy infant boy! We originally asked to adopt a toddler and an infant(both boys) so we just had to wait for a referral for a toddler...Well that didn't happen. And our first referral was ready for court...we didn't want to make him wait any longer than needed, so we looked at the waiting children's list and really prayed that God would show us who our 2nd child would be. And He showed us a 2nd infant boy...We now have 2 boys, who are the most amazing Sons a mom and dad could want! They will be 2 in a couple months, and act it! Currently we are in the process of adopting internationally, through CCI, again. We have our referrals(a boy and a girl) and are waiting on some paperwork to submit so they can get a court date, and we can travel to pick them up!
